Conversion of aldoximes into nitriles and amides under mild conditions.

چکیده
A series of Pd(en)X2 salts were used as catalysts for the conversion of aldoximes into nitriles and amides. Highlights of this protocol include the use of inexpensive polar solvents, including water, and moderate reaction temperatures. A high degree of selectivity in the reaction outcome was observed when using aliphatic vs. aromatic/conjugated aldoximes.

Nano silica-H2SO4 is an efficient and mild catalysis system for the regeneration of aldehyde from aldoximes. Ketoximes are converted to amides by Beckmann rearrangement in the presence of nano silica-H2SO4. The reactions are carried out in solvent-free conditions under microwave irradiation (600 W) within 50-120 sec in good yields.

The reaction of tertiary, secondary and benzylic alcohols with different nitriles in the presence of alumina-methanesulfonic acid (AMA) as a new reagent affords the corresponding amides in good yields (Table 1, 2). Conversion of 2,6-bis(hydroxymethyl)-4-halo anisoles into corresponding diamides in the range of 68-76% yields (Table 3) are also included in this paper.
